For parents hoping to watch their children’s lessons or for those taking a breather between workouts, a full service restaurant complete with couches, HDTVs, and a juice bar sits above nine cutting edge indoor tennis courts, six mini courts built for youth, and a top-notch junior Olympic swimming pool. For training, more than one hundred classes are taught each week throughout three group fitness studios and on-site rhythmic gymnastics center, where members participate in Pilates, yoga, boot camp, and Sambo Academy. From serious athletes to youth participating in a sport for the first time, MatchPoint is the facility to learn, grow, and succeed, notes Dmitry Druzhinsky.
Dmitry Druzhinsky’s passion for property development began in 2000, when he spearheaded the construction of his own home. He has since been responsible for the development and sale of over one hundred properties. As co-founder of MatchPoint NYC, his prior experience in the acquisition and repurposing of land was instrumental to the success of the great $20 million facility. The arduous negotiation process with New York City’s Board of Standards and Appeals to gain permission to develop the highly sought after three acre lot was finalized only after the businessman worked with the city to “de-map” a street which had been unused for the last century, but bisected one of the parcels where the structure was to be built. Upon its completion, the center became the largest recreational facility of it’s like in Brooklyn, and the second such complex in all of New York.
For over fifteen years, property investor and developer Dmitry Druzhinsky has worked to revolutionize the Big Apple’s residential and recreational infrastructure. Brooklyn’s MatchPoint NYC, his latest offering, has evolved into New York’s premier sports, health and fitness destination for residents and professional athletes of all ages. The 120,000 sq. ft. upscale complex features comprehensive, modern facilities and a friendly staff of certified instructors, personal trainers, and nutritionists to ensure that members correctly work towards their desired results effectively, efficiently, and safely.
Located on a three acre lot on Coney Island, MatchPointNYC features over 120,000 square feet of top of the line equipment and amenities. Its most notable aspect is an expansive nine court indoor tennis center, the biggest of its kind in Brooklyn. This luxury sports center was co-founded by Dmitry Druzhinsky in 2013, after he noticed a lack of recreational infrastructure in the area. Due to his dedication to the club’s members, employees, and the surrounding community, the complex quickly became the preferred venue for families, professional athletes, and cause driven charity events. “They are great to work with,” noted Darren Port, CEO of Powered by Professionals and one of the organizers of this year’s tournament, “He has really gone out of his way to invite us to work with them, and that has helped make the event really special in the two years we have had it here. The foundation does a great job in keeping its expenses low to ensure that the money raised goes towards the cause, and MatchPoint’s generosity helps make that possible.”
